I met Olivia when I was in elementary school through a performance of "Meet Me in St. Louis" at our local community theater. Little did I know how influential the entire Marstellar family would be in my little life when I met them at the cast party; but needless to say, I am thankful for the many ways they have poured into my life over the last fifteen years. It was such a sweet day getting to meet the newest edition to the family, adorable little James!
It is more than just babies that are birthed - a mother is also born the day she welcomes her child into the world. While this adventure is beautiful and amazing, it is also raw and real and pretty darn messy being a mom. It is a constant journey of becoming more like Jesus and laying down your life for others (specifically a very tiny other), and I'd be lying if I said it was an easy feat. But I'm proud of the person my little people are making me, and I'm proud of the mother I met on Friday. I've met and shared many experiences with her before, but motherhood definitely takes the cake.
Olivia, welcome to the tribe. Denny, you are a rockstar. James, you're pretty darn cute. Thanks for opening your home and little world to me, despite all the newness, and I hope you can cherish this season (and all the consecutive ones to come) for all that it's worth.
